George L. Washington, Jr.
Founder, CEO & Owner
George L. Washington, Jr. is the Founder, CEO, and Owner of The Champion's Factory, bringing more than 25 years of experience in elite basketball coaching, sports performance, executive leadership, recruiting, and athlete development. His career uniquely combines high-level basketball expertise, sports science, strength and conditioning, and business operations.
Most recently, Washington served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Fitness for Manna Capital Partners' Bluegrass Fitness, helping oversee operations across 19 OrangeTheory Fitness studios. His responsibilities included regional management, organizational restructuring, membership and revenue growth, and new facility development.
Washington spent more than a decade coaching at the NCAA Division I level. During eight seasons at the University of Texas, he helped the Longhorns achieve 184 victories, six NCAA Tournament appearances, four Sweet Sixteens, and an Elite Eight. As Recruiting Coordinator, he recruited four top-six national recruiting classes and 14 McDonald's All-Americans while helping develop numerous professional players, including Charli Collier, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft. He later served as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Dayton, where he recruited the Atlantic 10's top-ranked recruiting class.
His expertise extends well beyond coaching. Washington served in strength and conditioning roles with the NBA's Houston Rockets, WNBA's Houston Comets, and NWBL's Houston Stealth, where his responsibilities included strength training, basketball skill development, rehabilitation, and professional player preparation. He also worked at Memorial Hermann Sports Performance, designing and administering sport-specific performance programs and training NBA, overseas professional, collegiate, and high school basketball players, as well as Olympic and NFL athletes.
Washington has also directed a nationally recognized grassroots basketball program, helping more than 80+ athletes earn college scholarships, coaching a Nike Nationals Championship team, and developing multiple All-Americans and nationally ranked players.
Basketball is deeply rooted in the Washington family. His wife was an NCAA All-American and professional basketball player. Their daughter was a McDonald's All-American, NCAA Division I player, and professional player overseas, while all three of their sons are NCAA Division I basketball players. This experience gives Washington a distinctive perspective as a coach, performance specialist, recruiter, and parent who understands firsthand the complete development and recruiting journey of elite athletes.
Washington earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Abilene Christian University and is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Through The Champion's Factory, Washington is bringing together decades of basketball, sports performance, recruiting, executive leadership, and personal experience to create a specialized facility combining elite basketball skill development, sports performance training, recovery, and athlete education under one roof. His vision is to provide serious athletes with the comprehensive development and resources needed to reach their highest level of performance.
